Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the karGora app and website (together, "karGora") collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. karGora is operated by Aim Schools – Almadinah Islamic Model Schools, Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan ("we", "us"). Contact us at support@kargora.pk.

Information you give us

• Account details: name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), account type (job seeker, organisation or regulatory body), and your mobile number if you add one.
• Identity details for organisations and regulatory bodies: organisation name, type, location and contact details, and CNIC numbers where requested for verification. CNIC numbers are never shown to other users.
• Profile: photo, cover image, gender, location and preferred areas, education, experience, skills, certifications, languages, salary expectations and other details you choose to add.
• CVs and documents: files you upload, such as your CV or PDF documents.
• Content you share: posts, comments, reactions, job postings, announcements and reports.
• Messages: text, photos, documents and voice messages you send in chats.
• Job activity: jobs you save, apply to or post, job alerts, and application status updates.

Information collected automatically

• Sign-in sessions: device name, IP address, app/browser details and times of sign-in, so you can see and sign out of your active sessions.
• Notification token: a device token so we can send you push notifications.
• Basic activity: for example who viewed your profile, to show you profile-view counts.

karGora does not use your device's GPS location, does not show third-party ads and does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

How we use your information

• To create and secure your account, including email and SMS verification codes and two-step verification.
• To run the service: show profiles and jobs, match job seekers with suitable jobs, deliver applications and messages, and send notifications and emails you've asked for.
• To review and approve new accounts, keep the community safe, handle reports and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To answer your questions and support requests.

Who can see your information

• Other users see your public profile and the content you post. You control in Settings whether your email, contact number and online status are shown, who can message you, and whether you appear in search.
• Organisations you apply to see your application, your profile and the CV you attach.
• People you message see the messages and files you send them.
• karGora administrators can see account details to approve accounts, moderate content and handle reports.

We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run karGora, under their own privacy and security commitments:

• Hostinger — our servers and database.
• Cloudflare — storage and delivery of uploaded files (photos, CVs, documents, voice messages) and our domain's DNS.
• Google Firebase — push notifications and SMS phone-number verification (your phone number is sent to Google to deliver the code).

Emails are sent from our own mail server at kargora.pk. We may also disclose information when required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep some of it for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons. Messages you sent may remain visible to the people you sent them to. Copies may remain in our database backups for a limited period before those backups are removed.

Your choices

• Edit your profile and privacy settings in the app at any time.
• Turn email notifications off in Settings → Email notifications, or with the unsubscribe link in any notification email. Security emails (verification and sign-in codes) are always sent.
• Turn push notifications off in Settings or in your phone's settings.
• Ask for a copy of your information or its correction by emailing us.
• Delete your account.

Security

Connections to karGora are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are stored as secure hashes, and access to our systems is restricted. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and turn on two-step verification.

Children

karGora is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
